July 2016, Day 4, Hakuho v Tochiozan

Hakuho was sitting ringside yesterday waiting for his bout, so he saw Tochiozan upset Yokozuna Kakuryu. Today he wanted to send a message to Tochiozan that this Yokozuna won’t be defeated so easily. So he leads with a distracting left hand to the face, covering up the big right arm that immediately follows to Tochiozan’s grill. I mean, he really winds up. Tochiozan is a tough cookie and keeps fighting, trying to work his left hand in for a belt grip, but Hakuho is relentless in his attack and already has a belt grip of his own. It’s a short trip to the edge of the ring. Point made.
