July 2016, Day 9, Takanoiwa v Arawashi

Good technical sumo from down near the bottom of the top division. Both wrestlers going for the belt off the tachiai, and both securing the left-hand underhand grip. Takanoiwa gropes for the right-hand overhand a couple of times before shifting tactics and sneaking his right arm inside Arawashi’s for an underhand hold on that side. Arawashi does not want to give up the double underhand, so he immediately switches his own right arm inside, but Takanoiwa pulls tight and forces Arawashi upright. With Arawashi’s posture broken, it’s relatively easy for Takanoiwa to take him out.
