November 2016, Day 6, Goeido v Tamawashi

Gah! What was I just saying yesterday, about how good Goeido looked keeping his balance and not letting his torso get too far out in front of him! Well, today Tamawashi gives Goeido his first loss after a great back-and-forth battle that spans the breadth of the ring. Tamawashi ends up planting his left foot on the straw bales, and it proves to be the wall that Goeido breaks against. Goeido stands up with dirt and blood on his face, having landed head first on the straw bales that demarcate the outer boundary of the dohyo. He drops into an eight-way tie for second place with the other one-loss wrestlers.
