November 2016, Day 7, Shodai v Kisenosato

Big, meaty tachiai as Shodai and Kisenosato slam into each other with the sound of a truckload of Spam falling off a cliff. They seem evenly matched, with some fierce hand-fighting going on in between them as they both look for an advantage. But Shodai attacks first, using his left arm underneath Kisenosato’s right to swing the Ozeki off-balance and towards the edge. Kisenosato recovers momentarily, but Shodai buries his head in Kisenosato’s chest and pushes him off the dohyo for the upset. Both men finish the day at 5-2.
