November 2016, Day 12, Kotoshogiku v Kakuryu

The list of possible championship contenders this tournament is still fairly crowded, and Kakuryu can simplify things just by winning. Kotoshogiku’s been off his game all tournament, and doesn’t provide much of a challenge for the Yokozuna. He wiggles around a lot, but when Kakuryu reverses the left hand to work it inside for the double-underarm morozashi position, there’s nothing Kotoshogiku can do. The deep left-hand underarm grip from the Yokozuna gives too much leverage, and Kakuryu protects his single loss, regaining sole lead of the tournament.
