November 2016, Day 13, Tochinoshin v Kisenosato

Kisenosato is involved in another instant classic, a mighty contest with M6 Tochinoshin. Kisenosato’s undoing is his left hand grip, which only has the outer layer of Tochinoshin’s mawashi and doesn’t give him any control over Tochinoshin’s body. Kisenosato falls to 10-3, still with a very slim, outside chance at the championship. Tochinoshin improves to 9-4 with the nice underarm throw (shitatenage).
