January 2017, Day 2, Kisenosato v Tamawashi

Kisenosato is no-nonsense on Day 2, controlling the center of the ring and easily handling Tamawashi, sending him stumbling over the tawara after a few quick shoves. This confidence bodes well for Kisenosato’s championship hopes – he almost always loses a couple of bouts in the first half of the tournament against opponents he should consistently beat. He was runner-up four times last year, a statistic he would love to remedy in 2017.
