January 2017, Day 2, Tochinoshin v Goeido

Ozeki Goeido gets back on track against Komusubi Tochinoshin, displaying a promising mix of speed, strength, and improvisation. After a solid tachiai, he circles around back to the center where it seems for a split second he’s going to settle and turn this into a grappling match for the belt. But with perfect timing he slips sideways, using a left-hand overarm grip to send the surprised Tochinoshin tumbling to the dirt. Nice work.
