There’s a blue-collar feel to Shohozan’s sumo that is very appealing to me. Nothing flashy, nothing fancy, just brute-force effort applied efficiently. It’s a good strategy against Harumafuji, whose movement and speed can cause a less stable wrestler to get flustered. But Shohozan stays calm, and pounces with impressive speed of his own when the opportunity arises. Good killer instinct. No fear.
