March 2017, Day 1, Harumafuji v Kotoshogiku

Newly demoted-from-Ozeki Kotoshogiku knows he can regain his long-held rank with an excellent performance of at least 10-5 here in Osaka. So he doesn’t waste any time, pulling off the first big upset of the March Tournament by knocking off Yokozuna Harumafuji on Day 1. ‘Giku shows good lateral movement, good aggression, and zero fear. This bodes well for his chance at re-promotion.
