March 2017, Day 1, Shohozan v Takayasu

Two of my favorite wrestlers meet in Osaka on Day 1, and do not disappoint. Takayasu starts off in a bad spot, getting way too upright and letting Shohozan take the dominant position with his left arm high underneath Takayasu’s right. Shohozan uses his right-handed belt grip to move Takayasu around towards the edge of the ring, but Takayasu gets his right leg extended and plants it against the straw bales. Shohozan tries to push Takayasu’s head off with his left arm, but Takayasu shows good flexibility and manages to reset for some offense of his own. A quick few thrusts later and Takayasu has Shohozan moving backwards and over the edge of the ring.
