Takarafuji is one of those guys who is deceptively strong. He’s not covered in rippling muscles, and his face is soft and not at all intimidating. But his core and back are like oak – he keeps his torso at the perfect angle, legs solidly underneath him, and Hokutofuji can’t budge him. Watch this bout a couple of times, and focus on the angle of Takarafuji’s back. It’s not often you can say that posture wins a sumo bout, but man.
